Smart Showering FAQs
1. Is the digital control (interface) fitted inside or outside of the shower?
- Digital control interfaces can be installed inside or outside of the shower. We suggest that the main user interface be installed within the shower space so that the experience can be adjusted during the shower. A secondary remote on/off button can also be installed outside of the shower area for convenience and comfort.
2. Does the valve need to be installed directly behind the digital control?
- The valve does not need to be installed directly behind the control. Smart shower systems utilize BLUETOOTH® technology, making them more flexible to fit, use, and maintain.
3. How can I ease my client’s concerns about power outages with smart showering?
- Power can be a concern for some clients. This will likely not be the only shower within the property, hence, a traditional shower could be used if a power outage were to occur. Also to be considered: how often do users shower during a power outage?
Without power, digital valves will automatically shut off and the shower will cease to function. We recommend supplementing your smart shower system with a KOHLER® generator for backup in case of power outages. Clients can rest assured, when the generator is activated or power resumes, the system will automatically return to the user's preset temperature to ensure safety and comfort.
4. Can Anthem shower systems be adapted for regions with flow rate restrictions?
- Yes, Anthem shower systems are completely customizable. Kohler global design consultants are experts in creating showering solutions for hospitality, residential, and commercial projects in low-flow regions such as Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and the United States.
5. Is the digital control (interface) intuitive?
- Yes. Anthem digital controls were designed by experts in the UX/UI field. Whether the end-user is a daily resident or a one-time hotel guest, Anthem digital interfaces have been designed to be intuitive and easy to use.
6. Are my hospitality clients able to easily integrate Anthem digital controls with guest room technology?
- Kohler is committed to driving product innovation that meets our customers’ business integration needs, such as room automation, energy management, and seamless integration with property management systems. In future phases of the product, we will look to offer technology integration systems capabilities. In the meantime, end-users can control settings through the KOHLER Konnect™ app or the intuitive digital control interface.
7. Are manual or automatic software updates required for Anthem digital shower controls?
- Software updates are initiated through the KOHLER Konnect app.
8. Is the KOHLER Konnect app accessible in all regions?
- KOHLER Konnect is available in the United States and China.
9. How can I convince my client to invest in smart showering products?
- Your client should consider that technology enhances the overall value, appeal, and efficiency of a property. In addition to improving a hotel guest or resident’s shower experience, smart technology simply appeals to the modern consumer. That said, tech-driven properties can differentiate themselves in competitive markets, providing a higher return on investment.
